Motorado – Grand Opening today

Took the Fazer out for a ride today to Lakewood, where a new bike consignment shop, Motorado, was having their grand opening. They had the grill going with dogs and brats, chips, soft drinks, and beer. Nice little place, and the owners were very friendly. I asked Ron if they do service work, and he pointed me over to Supertune, so i’ll be checking into those guys.

If you’re in the Denver area, looking to buy or sell your bike, do check them out.

Beautiful day, had to wash the Fazer

Me and my helper washed the Fazer today. Started up with little trouble, after washing, took it to 7-11 and got some gas. 0.85 gallons worth! It could probably use a post-winter hibernation tune up. She’s not perfect, but it doesn’t matter. 🙂

My new toy! Picked it up Tuesday, drove it home in the pouring rain. Bought it off Craigslist, and it’s in great shape!

The story of this bike begins a couple years ago with a guy called Wayne. Wayne lived well up north in Minnesota near the Canadian border. That’s where he bought this Honda CB250 at a local antique store for an untold sum of money. You see, the Honda CB250 is actually a Canadian bike. That we know of, Honda never sold them here in The States. Sure, we had its big brother, the CB/CL350, but the CB250 was off limits for reasons we still don’t understand. Wayne found one, however, and he had a particular purpose in mind. He needed to get to the Twin Cities to see about a lady. In our estimation, it doesn’t get much more romantic than that. Buy a weird old motorcycle, travel hundreds of miles and try to sweep a young lady off her feet. Sadly, Wayne’s trip hadn’t gone quite according to plan by the time he and his CB250 darkened our shop door.

1974 Harley-Davidson RR350 Racer

1974 RR350 Racer

This 1974 RR350 Racer is one of 26 originally made, quite rare! These racers were hand built in the Aermacchi Harley-Davidson plant in Varese, Italy for the sole purpose of road racing. This bike has the twin disc front brakes, double leading shoe rear brakes, 6 speed transmission, Ceriani forks, water cooled, Dansi electronic ignition and is in the legendary Harley-Davidson racing colors. These machines were similar in design and performance to the Yamaha TZ twins and were successful in national events. Harley Davidson imported a number of 250’s to compete in AMA road races, but the 350 is virtually unknown.
