About Me

This blog is mostly about naked motorcycles, also known as standard bikes. They tend to be a little more comfortable than the sportbikes, with a more upright seating position, and less hunching over. However, this blog will ramble all over the place, covering whatever motorbikes seem interesting. More emphasis on the naked bikes, but I enjoy some custom jobs, some racing (Isle of Man anyone?), motorcycle safety, and even off-road adventure bikes. What you probably won’t see is too many Harleys, or too many sport bikes, but you never know.

I recently got back into riding, had been contemplating a Triumph Street Triple, a Triumph Tiger 800, or maybe even a Yamaha TW200, the fat tire dual-sport bike. Well, surfing Craigslist, I found a 1986 Yamaha FZX700 Fazer for a good price. Checked it out with a friend, and it was in great shape. Bought it, and am enjoying it. We’ll see if I get a new one sometime, but for now, the Fazer is great.

My motorcycle history is not extensive, grew up with a mid-80’s Yamaha 200E 3-wheeler, had so much fun on that. Early 90’s or so, I picked up a 1983 Suzuki GS450, and rode that several years. Happy to be back in the saddle with the Fazer.  I enjoy photography and spending time with family.

I’m currently loving life in Denver, Colorado. You can reach me at: nakedbike @

I’d love to hear your thoughts and comments on the site.

Good on ya for concentrating on naked bikes and sportsters. I ride a 2003 Bandit 1200 naked, and am surprised how little love this type of motorcycle gets. Best overall street bike I have ever owned. Owned everything from a 1966 ‘year I was born’ Ducati wide-case 250 to a ’91 FZR 1000, a 2006 Suzuki GSXR 600. The bandit is the most versatile bike I’ve ever owned. Funny that these bikes are so popular in Europe, but all you see around here are sportbikes and cruisers. I’ll be looking for you out on the road. Thanks for the blog and best of luck.
